Lynwood Dewayne Cross

Lynwood Dewayne Cross, 86, of Albany, GA died Saturday, June 8, 2013, at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital. Graveside funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, June 11, 2013 at 4:00 p.m. at Crown Hill Cemetery. Rev. Charlie Rouse will officiate.
A native of Camilla, GA., Mr. Cross had resided in Albany, GA since 1958. He was retired from sales and was formerly employed with Cross Equipment Company. He was a veteran of WW II serving in the Navy and was a member of Sherwood Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lewis Wilson Cross and Rosa Burnum Cross Holt, his wife, Lottie Heard Cross, a son, Gary Dewayne Cross, a brother, Thurman Cross and a step brother, Jimmy Lewis Holt.
Survivors include a son, Gregory L. Cross and his wife Teresa, Atlanta, GA, a daughter, Jennifer L. Cross, Atlanta, GA, two sister-in-laws, Velma S. Cross and Betty Jean Holt Soley both of Albany, GA, four grandchildren, Stephen L. Wright, St Louis, MO, Cameron B. Cross, London, England, Daniel T. Cross, Atlanta, GA, Kathleen Delaine Thompson, Statesboro, GA, and four great grandchildren, Lucas Benjamin Thompson, Sara Kathleen Thompson both of Statesboro, GA, Olivia L. Wright and Alaia C. Wright both of St. Louis, Mo.
The family will receive friends Tuesday from 2:30 p.m. until 3:30 p.m. at Mathews Funeral Home.
