Loyal H. Allen

Loyal Henry Allen, 84, of Oxford, formerly of Albany, died Friday, February 4, 2022 at his home. 

His graveside service will be 3:00 Tuesday, February 8, 2022 at Crown Hill Cemetery with Rev. Kevin Wilhite of Oxford Baptist Church officiating.

A native of Doerun, Mr. Allen was a graduate of Doerun High School and had lived in Albany most of his life moving to Oxford eighteen years ago.  He retired from the U. S. Postal Service as the Postal Station Manager at the Downtown Station in Albany and was a member of Byne Memorial Baptist Church. 

He was preceded in death by his first wife Martha Allen, brothers Coyal Allen, Doyal Allen, sisters, Shirley Addison; Barbara Adams and granddaughter, Morgan Elizabeth Carver. 

Survivors include his wife Linda D. Allen, daughters, Linda Allen Dyke (Bill) of Albany, Wanda Allen Sumler (Boyd) of Tifton, step-daughter, Heather Cannarella (Todd) of Connecticut.  Brother William Durrell Allen of Florida. Grandchildren, Lydia Lee, William Dyke (Jana), Laura Andrews (Chance), Jason Carver (Evie), Seth Carver, Bethany Glass (Wade), Ty Cook. Step-grandchildren, Mitchell Cannarella, Madi Cannarella, Maxwell Cannarella. Great-grandchildren, Dawson Lee, Alyssa Lee, Harrison Dyke, Tucker Dyke, Emmett Andrews, Oliva Carver, Logan Cook.

The family will receive friends Tuesday, February 8, 2022 from 1:30 to 2:30 PM at Mathews Funeral Home at 3206 Gillionville Rd. Albany, GA. 31721.
