Lowell Franklin Oldham Jr, (MGySgt, USMC Retired), 75, of Albany, GA, passed away Saturday, April 16, 2016 at his residence. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, at 11:00 a.m. at Mathews Funeral Home. Rev. Doc Williams will officiate. Interment will follow in Floral Memorial Gardens Cemetery with military honors.
Born in Fort Worth, TX, Lowell joined the United States Marine Corp after high school. During his twenty seven year career he was stationed in Okinawa, Japan and served two tours in Vietnam before being transferred to Albany where he retired as Maintenance Chief. Mr. Oldham was also an avid deer and turkey hunter and enjoyed bass fishing as well. Lowell was a member of the American Legion Post 30.
Survivors include his wife of fifty four years Yukiko Oldham, two daughters Amiko Oldham of Albany, GA, Vera (Kim Paul) Greene of Tampa, FL, a son Thomas (Ruby) Oldham of Phoenix City, AL, four grandchildren Brandon Oldham of Phoenix City, AL, Gabriel Greene of Tampa, FL, Devyn Chrisner and family of Savannah, GA, and Amanda Monville of Houston, TX, a sister Barbara Anderson of Cochran, GA, and his mother Vera Louda Barrow of Azle, TX.
The family will receive friends only at Mathews Funeral Home on Wednesday, April 20, 2016 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm.
