Louise Barber Short

Louise Barber Short, 87, of Albany, GA, died March 24, 2017 at Pruitt-Palmyra Health Care. Funeral services will be held Monday at 2:00 PM at Mathews Funeral Home. Pastor Troy Dykes will officiate. Interment will follow in Floral Memory Gardens Cemetery.

A native of Cedartown, GA, Mrs. Short moved to Albany, GA in 1959 and moved to Lee County, GA in 1981. She was employed with Flint River Textiles for twelve years and was a Baptist by Faith. Mrs. Short was preceded in death by her husband, Paul C. Short, an infant child, Kenneth Short and two adult children, Paulette Duckworth and Donald Short.

Survivors include her children, Hoyt (Deborah) Short, Carl Short of Lee County, GA, Paul B. Short of Albany, GA, Jennie Lou (Charles) Whitlock and Teresa (Steve) Spencer all of Lee County, GA, her siblings, Jerry (Pat) Barber of Putney, GA and Tommy (Dee) Barber and Ann Farmer all of Greenwood, SC, fourteen grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Sunday from 7:00 PM until 9:00 PM at Mathews Funeral Home.
