Louise Turner Roney

Louise Turner Roney, 73, of Edison, GA, died October 20, 2023 at the Miller County Hospital in Colquitt, GA.  Funeral services will be held Thursday, October 26, 2023 at 11:00 am at Salem Baptist Church in Edison, GA.  Rev. Jackie Williams will officiate.  Interment will follow in Cordray Methodist Cemetery.

Louise was born in Leary, GA on July 19, 1950 to Dewitt and Hazel Hill Turner.  She grew up in Calhoun County, attended school and played basketball in Morgan.  Louise was a lifelong residence of Calhoun County, GA and was preceded in death by fourteen siblings.  She was a homemaker, great cook, seamstress and matriarch of the Roney Family.  She was a member of Salem Baptist Church and was employed with Kolomoki Plantation.

Survivors include her husband of 57 years, Roy Roney of Edison, GA, her children, Donna Roney Blanton (Barry) of Coleman, GA, Neal “Buck” Roney (Cindy) of Edison, GA and Shane Roney of Patmos, GA, her last living sibling, Betty Sheffield (William) of Edison, GA, four grandchildren, Daylon Blanton of Edison, GA, Braylie Blanton of Patmos, GA, Lindsey Roney Kelly (Shane) of Newton, GA and Macy Ford of Panama City, FL and two great-grandchildren, Ridge and Emmalyn.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm Wednesday, October 25, 2023 at Mathews Funeral Home.
