Linda Joyce Ponthier

Linda Joyce Ponthier, 57, of Lee Co., GA passed away Friday, January 31, 2025 at her residence.  

The family will receive friends Monday, 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Mathews Funeral Home. 

We gather here today to celebrate the life of an extraordinary woman—Linda Joyce Ponthier. She was a loving mother, a devoted wife, a wonderful daughter, and a cherished grandmother. Her warmth, kindness, and unwavering love for her family made her the heart of our lives, a beacon of light that guided us through both joyful and difficult times. 

Linda’s love knew no bounds. As a mother, she nurtured with patience and grace, always putting her children’s needs before her own. She taught us the true meaning of love—not just through words but through her actions, her sacrifices, and her constant encouragement. No matter what challenges we faced, we knew we could always turn to her for comfort, wisdom, and support. 

As a devoted wife, Linda shared a deep and enduring love with her husband, a partnership built on respect, trust, and an unbreakable bond. Their love story was one of unwavering commitment, laughter, and the simple joys of companionship. Together, they created a home filled with love, warmth, and cherished memories that will live on in our hearts forever. 

As a daughter, she was a source of strength and pride to her family, always honoring her parents with love and gratitude. She carried forward the values they instilled in her—kindness, resilience, and an unshakable faith in the goodness of people. 

And as a wonderful grandmother, Linda found endless joy in seeing her family grow, in watching new generations carry forward the love and wisdom she imparted. She had a special way of making every child feel treasured, her arms always open for a warm embrace, her words always filled with encouragement. 

Linda’s presence in our lives was a gift, and while we mourn her passing, we also celebrate the beautiful legacy she leaves behind. Her love will continue to guide us, her laughter will echo in our memories, and her kindness will live on in the way we treat others. 

Today, we do not say goodbye, but rather, we say thank you. Thank you, Linda, for a life well-lived, for love well-given, and for the many beautiful moments we were blessed to share with you. Your spirit will remain with us always. 

Rest in peace, knowing you were deeply loved. 

Linda was preceded in death by her parents, Eldrige Jones and Jeannene Smith Jones, the father of her children, David Nathan Ponthier, daughters Allyse Megan Ponthier and Kimberly Ponthier Robinson.

Survivors include her son, Erik Nathan Ponthier (Sheena), Lee Co., GA, brother, Bruce Jones (Yvette), Branson, MO, sister, Angie Turner (Curtis), Lee Co., GA and grandsons, Nathaniel Thompson and Colton Robinson.
