Linda Vann (Nanny) Mullens, 67, of Albany, GA, died Tuesday, May 7, 2013 at Willson Hospice House. Funeral services will be held Saturday May11, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Mathews Funeral Home. Rev. Terry Siniard will officiate. Interment will follow in Crown Hill Cemetery.
A native of Boston, MA, Mrs. Mullens moved to Albany in 1966 from Bainbridge, GA. Miss Linda as she was affectionately known, by the children she kept in her home daycare for many years.
Survivors include her husband, David R. Mullens of Albany, GA, a son, Jeff Barrett and his wife, Kelly, a daughter, Brenda Purvis and her husband, Kenny, all of Lee County, GA, a sister, Denise Cummings of Albany, GA, six grandchildren, Whitney (John) Rodman, Corey (Tori) Purvis, Brantley Barrett, Shane Purvis, Austin Purvis, and Cole Barrett and two great-grandchildren, Peyton Rodman and Kenzlee Purvis all of Lee County, GA, two brothers-in-law, Lucky Jack Santana and David Dearin of Atlanta, GA and Dennis (Colleen) Vann of Lee County, GA and a beloved dog, Buddy. She was preceded in death by her father, George A. Shores and her mother, Lucille M. Giles Shores.
The family will receive friends Friday from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Mathews Funeral Home.
The family will be at the residence of Brenda and Kenny Purvis, 115 Oakleaf Lane, Leesburg, GA.
