Linda White Goldsmith, 75, of Lee County, GA passed away Saturday, December 19, 2015 at St. Joseph's Emory Hospital in Atlanta, GA. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, December 26, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of Leesburg. Rev. Todd Sullens will officiate. Interment will follow at Crown Hill Cemetery.
Linda was born in Asheville, NC to the late Emmett Frank White and Mary Sue Torrence White. She had lived in Marietta, GA for eleven years before moving to the Albany-Leesburg area thirty-three years ago. Her former employers were Weeks Textile and Dillard's Department Store where she was a bridal consultant. Linda was a member of The First Baptist Church of Leesburg. There she was a member of the Joy Sunday School Class, Sister's Circle and the Thursday Morning Bible Study. She was a member of The Kiwanis Club of Albany Golden K and Stonebridge Country Club. She graduated from Erwin High School in Asheville, NC and attended Western Carolina University in Cullowhee, NC.
Survivors include her husband of almost fifty-five years, Gene Goldsmith of Lee County, GA, one daughter, Leisa Simon (Fred) of Albany, GA, two sons, Warren Goldsmith (Monica) of Sugar Hill, GA and Barry Goldsmith (Kelly) of Hamilton, GA. Two sisters, Vivian Jamerson (Bruce) of Simpsonville, SC and Martha Johnson (Wade) of Roper, NC. Also six grandchildren, Ali Ray (Steven) of Leesburg, GA, Tonya Hormilla (Robert) of Panama City Beach, FL, Brandon Goldsmith of Hamilton, GA, Spencer Goldsmith of Hamilton, GA, Carrington Goldsmith of Sugar Hill, GA, and Clayton Goldsmith of Sugar Hill, GA. Two great grand-children and seven nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one brother Gene Franklin White, of Asheville, NC.
The family will receive friends one hour before the service at the First Baptist Church of Leesburg.
