Linda Kierce Denney, 81, of Albany, GA, died December 24, 2024 at her residence. Funeral services will be held Monday, December 30, 2024 at 11:00 am at Mathews Funeral Home. Rev. Gerry Dorre will officiate. Interment will follow in Crown Hill Cemetery.
Linda was born in Albany, GA on October 4, 1943 to James Earl and Velma Kierce. She grew up in Albany and graduated from Albany High School in 1958. She met and married Norman Denney in 1958. She was a homemaker and was also employed with Home Interiors and Rhodes Furniture as an interior designer.
Linda had been a member of Calvary Baptist Church from 1963 until its closing in 2022. She was extremely active in the Church and taught Sunday School, was the Director of WMU, sang in the Choir, help prepare meals and was a member of The Willing Workers Sunday School Class. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Steve Kierce, Barbara Cook and Travis L. Kierce, Sr.
Survivors include her husband, Norman E. Denney of Albany, GA, her sons, Dewayne (Angela G.) Denney of Lee County, GA, Darin (Christy) Denney of Albany, GA and Chad (Haley) Denney of Lee County, GA, six grandchildren, Brett (Kristi) Denney of Shellman, GA, Jessica K. (Brandon) Phillips of Dallas, GA, Dustin (Heidi) Denney, Taylor (Matt) Thorne, Dallas (Kendall) Denney and Henley Denney all of Lee County, GA and eight great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Monday from 10:00 am until 11:00 am at Mathews Funeral Home.
