Lillie Mae Parr Williford, 84, of Albany, GA, died April 26, 2016 at Pruitt Health-Palmyra. Funeral services will be held Friday at 2:00 PM at Mathews Funeral Home. Pastor Keith Smith will officiate. Interment will follow in Floral Memory Gardens Cemetery.
A native of the Milford Community in Baker County, GA, born to the late Alton and Grace Mae Parr, Mrs. Williford grew up in a family of five girls and two boys. She worked alongside of her brothers in the fields; plowing, picking cotton and peanuts and beside her mother and sisters in their home.
After moving to Albany, GA, she worked for Gibson's and that is where she met her husband, James Williford. They raised her two sons and his son as their three sons. Mrs. Williford was employed at Walmart and later she was a bookkeeper for Railway Freight. She was a member of Pine Bluff Baptist Church and enjoyed visiting and helping others. After her stroke, Mrs. Williford missed her church family, but always looked forward to seeing them as they visited her at the nursing home.
Survivors include her husband, James L. Williford, three sons, Ivy Cleveland and his wife, Carol, Ronnie Cleveland and his wife, Joyce and Mike Williford, all of Albany, GA, three sisters, Myrtice Daniels and her husband, Stanley of Muscadine, AL, Yuvonne Kirksy and her husband, David of Dothan, AL and Linda Bradshaw and her husband, Teddy of Albany, GA, a brother, Glenn Parr and his wife, Lavetra of Crawfordville, FL, a brother-in-law, Wendell Hurst of Quincy, FL. She was preceded in death by a sister, Juanita Hurst and a brother, Samuel (Bubba) Parr.
The family will receive friends one hour before the service on Friday at Mathews Funeral Home.
Following the service, the family will be at the residence of Frances Mikilitus, 2903 Leary Road, Albany, GA, 31721 for food and fellowship.
