Lillian Flowers Morgan

Lillian Flowers Morgan, 94, of Albany, GA went to be with her Lord surrounded by her family on April 12, 2018 at DeKalb Medical Center. Graveside funeral services will be conducted Monday, April 16, 2018 at11:00 a.m. at Crown Hill Cemetery with military honors.

Mrs. Morgan was born on August 12, 1923 in Sioux City, Iowa and had lived in Albany, GA for the past sixty years. She graduated from Central High School in Sioux City, Iowa in June of 1942. Lillian worked for several years at Swift Packing Company prior to enlisting in the U.S. Navy. Once enlisted, she became a Seaman First Class of the U.S. Navy, where she met the love of her life when stationed in Hawaii. The two were married in Omaha, Nebraska.

Mrs. Morgan was a member of the Waves in the U.S. Navy, the Golden Key Club at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital, the American Legion and a charter member of the Women’s Memorial Arlington National Cemetery. She is also affiliated with the Order of the Eastern Star, Crape Myrtle Chapter # 163 and the Arthritis Foundation. She was preceded in death by her parents, Peter Flowers and Elvira Pinegar Flowers, her beloved husband, Russell William Morgan and five siblings, Elma Thompson, Rose Lillemon, Earl Bates, Will Flowers and Marge

Survivors include her daughter Carol Lee O’Maley and her husband, Ho O’Maley, Leesburg, GA, her son, Russell William Morgan, Jr., Morgan, Florida, her brother, John Flowers, Burlington, Iowa and four grandchildren, Tara Geiser, Conyers, GA, Joshua O’Maley, Leesburg, GA, Heather Jones and Brooke Morgan, Waco, TX and five-great-grandchildren, Piper Geiser, Evelyn Geiser, Kieran O’Maley, Hunter Jones and Avery Jones.

The family will receive friends prior to the graveside services Monday from 9:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. at Mathews Funeral Home.
