Lillian Ruth Blackburn

Lillian Ruth Blackburn, 83, of Americus, GA, formerly of Albany, GA, died January 24, 2018 at Magnolia Manor Nursing Center. Graveside funeral services will be held Friday at 2:00 PM at Floral Memory Gardens Cemetery.  Rev. Ken Chancellor will officiate.

A native of Mobile, AL, born to the late John Patrick and Virginia Wigham, Mrs. Blackburn moved to Arlington, GA and graduated from Arlington High School. She moved to Albany in 1966 with her late husband, Clarence "Bud" Blackburn. Mrs. Blackburn was a homemaker and a member of Lakeside Baptist Church attending the Fellowship Sunday School Class. After the flood of 1998, she moved to Americus and then to Arlington, GA, returning to Americus in 2011. She was preceded in death by her brother, Carl Hyre.

Mrs. Blackburn will lie in state at Mathews Funeral Home until Friday at Noon.

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Jeff and Barbara Blackburn, and her granddaughter Julie Blackburn, all of Albany, GA.
