Lester Jefferson "L.J." Roberts

Lester Jefferson “L.J.” Roberts of Bronwood, GA, formerly of Albany, GA, died May 12, 2024 at Seymour Southern Comforts.  Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2:00 pm at Byne Memorial Baptist Church.   Rev. Charlie Brown and Rev. Mark Jackson will officiate.   A private interment will follow in Floral Memory Gardens Cemetery.

L.J. was born in Marion County, GA on September 26, 1928 to Moley Jefferson and Lizzie Brown Roberts.  He grew up in Columbus, GA, graduated from Jordan High School and moved to Albany, GA in 1955.  L. J. was employed with Data Equipment Company and retired in 1994.

L.J. was a member and very active in Byne Memorial Baptist Church where he taught the A&P Sunday School Class for twenty-five years and was a member of Thomas Nelson SCV Camp # 143.  L.J was preceded in death by his daughters, Shiron Fisher and Beth Teixeira and a brother, Frank Roberts.  

Survivors include his wife, Venice C. Roberts of Bronwood, GA, a son, Britt (Sheila) Roberts of Sylvester, GA, two step-sons, Roger Young of Dothan, AL and David (Laney) Young of Sasser, GA and his grandchildren, Johnny Minnick, Bryn Causey, Michael Roberts, Jeff Roberts, Brittany Inlow, Joey Inlow, Zack Young, Jessica Ward, Bethany Pulliam and Joseph Young.

The family will receive friends Wednesday from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm at Byne Memorial Baptist Church.
