Leonard Carl Amundsen

Leonard Carl Amundsen, 78, of Albany, GA, died Wednesday, December 25, 2013 in Raleigh, NC at his daughter's residence. Funeral services will be conducted Monday, December 30, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Mathews Funeral Home. Rev. Richard Smith will officiate. Graveside services will be conducted Monday, December 30, 2013 at 3:00 p.m. at Primitive Union Cemetery, Colquitt, GA.
A native of Kirkland, Washington, Mr. Amundsen had resided in Albany, GA for a number of years. He served in naval reserve submarine division and later joined the United States Marine Corps. He was an entrepreneur in the motors sports industry. He was preceded in death by his parents, Leonard John Amundsen and Elta Victoria Elliott Amundsen and his wife, Carolyn Rita Grimsley Amundsen.
Survivors include a son and his wife, Randall Carl Amundsen and Karen Amato Amundsen, Leesburg, GA, a daughter and her husband, Candace Amundsen Blevins and Todd Eric Blevins, Raleigh, NC, a brother, Robert Amundsen and his wife Joan of Paradise, CA, two brothers-in-law, Jerry Grimsley and Ray Grimsley, Colquitt, GA, five grandchildren, Eric Randall Blevins, Connor Todd Blevins, Beau Christopher Blevins, Julie Ann Blevins, Nicole Carolyn Blevins and a great-grandchild, Isaac Faelon Blevins all of Raleigh, NC.
The family will receive friends Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the funeral hour at Mathews Funeral Home.
