Leona Shelley Porter

Leona Shelley Porter, 71, of Worth County, GA, died June 18, 2017 at her residence. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2:00 PM at Mathews Funeral Home. Rev. Stan Glass will officiate. A private interment will follow in Riverside Cemetery.

A native of Miller County, Mrs. Porter was born to the late D.C and Alice Richardson. She grew up in Colquitt and moved to Albany in 1961 and had lived in Worth County for the last twenty five years. Mrs. Porter was the retired manager of County Line Grocery and loved to fish. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Charles E. Shelley and Clinton Thomas Porter. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Mary Hatcher, three brothers, Lewis Richardson, David Richardson and Perry Richardson and two grandchildren, Sarah Bryant and Lane Albritton.

Survivors include four daughters, Gwen (Adam) Stokes of Sylvester, GA, Tammy (Eddie) Ryan of Albany, GA, Lisa (Scott) Bryant of Lee County, GA and Becky Albritton of Mitchell Co., GA, two step-sons, Matt Porter and Michael Porter of Albany, GA, a brother, Herbert Richardson of Leslie, GA, her grandchildren, Chris (Kristie) Shelley of Albany, GA, Tobie Shelley of Worth Co., GA, Jaylynn (Josh) Glass of Lee County, GA, Chad Ryan of Albany, GA, Kalah (Chris) Bell of Tifton, GA, Chad Ryan of Albany, GA, Trace Turner , Justin Stokes and Nolan Bryant all of Worth Co., GA, Caleb Bryant, Emma Bryant, Aiden and Aubri Bryant all of Lee Co., GA, her great-grandchildren, Kameron Shelley, Heath Glass, Harrison Glass, L.J. Albritton and C.J. Bell and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM Tuesday at Mathews Funeral Home.
