Lenora Faye “Millie” Wingate, 75, of Albany, GA, passed away on April 4, 2025, at her residence. No services will be held at this time.
Millie was born in Dublin, GA, and grew up in Chesapeake, VA, where she graduated from Great Bridge High School. She met her future husband, Donnie Wingate, while he was serving in the United States Coast Guard. The couple moved to Albany, GA, in 1968, and Millie attended Albany Junior College. She worked as a civil employee at the Marine Corps Logistics Base for twenty-nine years.
Millie was an avid reader and enjoyed throwing darts, as well as being the former owner of Willard’s Bar on Broad Avenue.
She is survived by her husband, Donnie W. Wingate of Albany, GA; her two children, Wayne Wingate of Albany, GA, and Cissi Faircloth of Howell, MI; and her siblings: David McNeal of Norfolk, VA, Sarah Hardin of Greensboro, NC, Susie McNeal of Chesapeake, VA, and Barbara Badillo of Palatka, FL. She is also survived by her beloved grandchildren: Ryan Marie of Las Vegas, NV; Jimmy Moore of Americus, GA; Blake Moore (Nina) of Hillsdale, OH; Trent Faircloth (Shelby Theut) of Sealy, TX; and BreeAnna “Breezy” Szentmiklosky (Neal) of Kew Gardens, NY; and two great grandchildren: Tristan Faircloth of Sealy, TX; Sebastian Faircloth of Hillsdale, OH.
Millie was preceded in death by her parents, William Parker and Annabelle McNeal, as well as nine siblings.
