Lawrence "Larry" Harold Valis

Lawrence "Larry" Harold Valis, 93, of Albany GA, passed away Tuesday, June 18, 2024 at Satilla Bluff Senior Care. Funeral services will be held Friday, June 21, 2024 at Mathews Funeral Home at 12:00 pm. Father Raymond Levreault will officiate. Interment will follow at 2:00 pm at Andersonville National Cemetery with Military Honors. 

Larry was born in New York City on July 9, 1930 to the late John and Sarah Valis. During his life, Lawrence earned a bachelor's degree from Rutgers University New Jersey and proudly served four years in the Air Force. He dedicated over thirty years of his life to working as an insurance salesman with Equitable Insurance Company.

 Larry had a passion for playing golf and was actively involved in various community organizations. He was a cherished member of St. Teresa Catholic Church, American Legion Post #30, The Knight of Columbus, and The American Red Cross.

He is preceded in death by his wife of sixty-four years until her passing in April 2018, Mildred E. (Millie) Valis, grandchild Samantha Valis and siblings Stanley Valis, Harold Valis, Kenneth Valis, Donald Valis, and Shirley Adornato.

Survivors include his three sons: Glenn Valis (Georgeanne) of Flagtown, NJ, Scott Valis (Lisa) of Blackshear, GA, David Valis of Albany, GA. He is also survived by his grandchildren: Justin Valis, Jordan Fink (Gage), Haley Boisclair (Tony), and great-grandchildren: Landon and Logan Valis, Riley Rogers, Delilah and Cohen Boisclair, Benjamin Rosado.

A Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 20th from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Mathews Funeral Home in Albany, GA.
