Lavonia E. Cook

Lavonia Elizabeth Cook, 85, of Albany, GA, died Thursday December 26, 2013 at Piedmont Newnan Hospital in Newnan, GA. Funeral services will be held Monday at 11:00 a.m. at Gillionville Baptist Church. Rev. Tony Haefs will officiate. Interment will follow at Floral Memory Gardens.
Born in Norman Park, GA to Arthur Lee and Emily Baker King, Mrs. Cook had lived in Albany most of her life. She graduated from Albany High School and retired as a manager at Bellsouth after 41 years of service. Mrs. Cook was a member of Gillionville Baptist Church, Albany Women’s Club, Order of The Eastern Star, Crepe Myrtle Chapter # 163 and Telephone Pioneers Club. She was preceded in death by her husband Andrew Kenneth (A K) Cook.
Survivors include two sisters, Wynell K. O’Hair of Dallas, GA and Delores K. Ledbetter and her husband Loye of Dawsonville, GA, a brother Harlow E. King and his wife Jean of Dallas, GA, and many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Sunday from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. at Mathews Funeral Home
