Laverne Skipper Glass

Our mother, Laverne Skipper Glass, was born October 21, 1939. She left her earthly home in Camilla December 24, 2024. She was preceded in death by her husband Pascal Glass, her parents Roy and Toy Skipper, her children Teresa Glass and Scott Glass, and siblings Linda Norton, Larry Skipper, Roy Skipper, Jr., and Jean Hall. 

Services will be held Tuesday, December 31 at 3:00 PM at Mathews Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 2:30 until funeral time. 

She was a loving mother and granny who doted on her grandchildren. She was a great storyteller and keeper of family history. She never met a stranger. As a matter of fact, if you were around her long enough, she would figure out your family tree and how everyone present was related. 

Mama spent many years as plant manager of Nut Tree Pecan Co. Cleaning Plant. She made many lifelong friends and memories during this time. She loved reminiscing about these times. 

Some of her favorite past times where, going to Biloxi and Atmore to gamble and going out to eat. 

She is survived by her children Pam Smithwick (Craig), Greg Glass (Kathy), and Jeff Glass, her grandchildren Lisa Davidson, Michael Davidson (Heather), Emily Alvis (Mark), and Skyler Glass, and her great grandchildren Avery, Harley, and Shelby. Surviving siblings are Annette Morrison (George) and Janice Washington.
