Laverne Barfield

Laverne Barfield, 77, of 3405 Forest Ridge Drive, Albany, GA, died Tuesday, June 28, 2011 at her residence. The funeral service will be conducted Friday, July 1, 2011 at 3:00 PM at Mathews Funeral Home. Rev. Bobby Moye will officiate. Interment will follow at Crown Hill Cemetery.

A native of Eastman, GA, Mrs. Barfield had resided in Albany for the past fifty five years. She was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith. Mrs. Barfield was preceded in death by a daughter, Marie Fudge and a grandson, Chad Sirmons.

Survivors include her husband, Willie Barfield of Albany, GA, three daughters, Linda Freeman, Albany, GA, Doris Sirmons and Debra Crowder both of Leesburg, GA, three sons, Ricky Barfield his wife, Burma of San Antonio, TX, Larry Barfield and his wife, Sue of Albany, GA and Gene Barfield and his wife, Pam of Leesburg, GA, a brother, David Collins of Albany, GA, a sister, Diane Spivey of Snellville, GA, twelve grandchildren, Ricky Barfield, Jr., Paul Barfield, Levon Fudge, Chris Fudge, Rusty Taunton, Gene Barfield, Jr., Shawn Freeman, Heather Leblanc, Misty Dent, Brian Freeman, Jeffery Crowder, Jr. and Haley White and seventeen great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Thursday from 7:00 PM until 9:00 PM at Mathews Funeral Home.
