Kimberly Johnson Hopson, 50, of Lee County, passed away Wednesday, April 15, 2015 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, April 18, 2015 at 11:00 am at Byne Memorial Baptist Church. Dr. Kerry Reeves will officiate. Interment will follow at Bethel Cemetery in Monticello, FL at 3:00 pm.
Born in Deland, FL Kim moved to Albany in 2001 with her husband. She was a teacher with Byne Memorial Baptist Church daycare and schools. Kim also taught at several other area daycares at one time or another. She had a great passion for children and enjoyed teaching them to "love to learn." She was preceded in death by her mother Laurie Lydia Stearns.
Survivors include her husband Keith Hopson, three children Robert Martin of Albany, GA, Amber (Trevor) Simpson of Silverdale, WA, Matthew Hopson of Lee County, four sisters Toni (Chuck) Darrow of Monticello, FL, Francis (Chris) White of Jacksonville, FL, Elizabeth (Bryan) Loveless, and Barbara (Danny) Voyles of Youngstown, FL, her father Bobby "Frank" Johnson and his wife Diane of Dunnelon, FL, two grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, and a host of extended family and loved ones.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Byne Memorial Baptist Church.
