Kenneth Gene Moss

Kenneth Gene (Kenny) Moss, 50, of Lee Co., GA, died Saturday, November 22, 2014 at his residence. Memorial services will conducted Wednesday, November 26, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Mathews Funeral Home. Rev. Billy D. Hanna will officiate.

Born in Albany, GA, Mr. Moss had resided in Lee Co., GA for the past fourteen years. He was a 1982 graduate of Westover High School and owned and operated Sowega Vending. He was a man of integrity. He loved his family and the game of baseball. One of Kenny's greatest loves was teaching the kids about the game he loved so much, but also teaching about life. He wanted to be able to inspire the lives of the kids that he met. Kenny has always felt the most comfortable on a baseball field, whether it was in a uniform, or outside the baseline coaching. Baseball for "Coach Kenny", Pam and Gunnar was a way of life, always traveling somewhere to play on some dirt.

If Kenny's wealth was measured by the people who cared for him, he was a very rich man. He never met a stranger and anyone who met him, never forgot him. He just one of those people that left a lasting impression. God was ready for his team to have a great coach and some really good looking uniforms. Hard to say goodbye to # 21, who was loved by so many and will be greatly missed.

He was a member of First Free Will Baptist Church and was preceded in death by his parents, Lonzo Moss and Bernice Holland Moss Garcia, a brother, Ronnie Moss, two sisters, Jimmie Moss Brand and Debbie Moss Holton.

Survivors include his wife, Pam Wiard Moss and a son, Gunnar Moss both of Lee Co., GA, a brother, Donny G. Moss (Mona), Lee Co., GA, four sisters, Martha Nobles (Roger), Nettie Moss Peterson (Mike) and Betty Butler (Tony) all of Albany, GA and Barbara Mashburn (Dennis), Jacksonville, FL.

The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Mathews Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers those desiring may make memorials to a charity of their choice in memory of Kenneth Gene (Kenny) Moss.
