Kenneth L. Crabtree

Kenneth Leroy Crabtree, 77, of Albany, GA, died Friday, April 6, 2018 at Wynfield Health and Rehabilitation Center.  

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 10, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at First Free Will Baptist Church, Albany, GA.  Rev. Billy D. Hanna will officiate.  Interment will follow in Crown Hill Cemetery. 

A native of Baxter, AR, Mr. Crabtree was born to the late Richard and Eula Wray Crabtree and grew up near West Plains, MO.  He moved to Albany, GA in 1962.  He attended the School of The Ozarks in Branson, MO and graduated from Berry College in Rome, GA.  Mr. Crabtree received his Masters Degree from Valdosta University and his Six Year Degree from Troy State University.  Mr. Crabtree was also a Fulbright Scholar and made several trips to India with that program. He was a teacher for thirty five years at Merry Acres Middle School and Radium Springs Middle Magnet School of the Arts and also served as a Truant Officer for DCSS.  Mr. Crabtree was a member of First Free Will Baptist Church where he taught the Fellowship Sunday School Class. 

Survivors include his wife, Mildred Nunnelley Crabtree of Albany, GA; a daughter Sheila C. Whittenberg and her husband, William, who reside in Berlin, Germany; two beloved grandchildren, Erich Whittenberg and Isabelle Whittenberg, also residing in Berlin, Germany; two brothers and their wives, Hervil and Carol Crabtree, and Roy and Rita Crabtree, of Mexico, MO; and his best buddy Pat Collier of Albany, GA. He was preceded in death by his mother, Eula Wray Crabtree Goyer, and his step-father, Orval Goyer.

The family will receive friends Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the funeral hour at First Free Will Baptist Church.
