Ken L. Williams (Capt., USMC, Ret.), 69, of Albany, GA, passed away April 13 2017 at his residence. The family will visit at Mathews Funeral Home on Saturday, April 15, 2017 from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM. Committal services will be held Tuesday, April 18, 2017 at 10:00 AM at Andersonville National Cemetery. Ross Powell will officiate. Military Honors will follow.
He was born on March 27, 1948 in Walker county Alabama to the late W.O. & Gracie Williams. After graduating from Berry High School in 1965, he married Jewel Dean Nelson in 1966. Mr. Williams joined the United States Marine Corps. He attended The Citadel Military College and graduated as a Second Lieutenant. He later rose to the rank of Captain and retired after 21 years of service in 1987. Mr. Williams continued his career and was employed with the Department of Defense before retiring in 2004.
He is survived by his wife, Jewel D. Williams of Albany, GA, a daughter, Karen Williams of Berry, AL, four sons, Nolen Williams and his wife, Teresa of Albany, GA, Scott Williams of Baconton, GA, Troy Williams and his wife, Jennifer of Blue Springs, MO and Eric Williams and his wife, Melinda of Albany, GA, three brothers, Garry Williams and his wife, Juanita and Danny Williams and his wife, Janice all of Berry, AL and Keith Williams and his wife, Diane of Layette, AL, a sister, Rosemary Terry and her husband, Rusty of Toney, AL, eleven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
