Kara York

Kara York, 86, of Albany, GA, died August 8, 2016 at Pruitt-Palmyra Health Care. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11:00 AM at Raleigh White Baptist Church. Rev. Ronnie Kinsaul and Rev. Joey Cannon will officiate. Interment will follow in Floral Memory Gardens Cemetery.

A native of Dothan, AL born to the late Henry and Katie York, Mr. York moved to Albany, GA in 1955 with his young family. He was a self-employed truck driver for fifty-eight years and owned KAMAR Trucking Company. Mr. York was a member of Raleigh White Baptist Church, the Never Grow Old (NGO'S) and the Good Sam RV Club. He was preceded in death by his wife, Margie Lorene Parrish York, son, David R. York, grandson, Quinton Mock, two brothers and four sisters.

Survivors include his children and their spouses, Bettie and Bill Etheredge of Leesburg, GA, Eddie and David Mitchell of Newnan, GA and Patricia and Joey Cannon of Albany, GA, his sisters, Martha Hasty of Valdosta, GA, Mary Lou Edmondson and her husband, Billy of Dothan, GA and Ann York of Dothan, AL, his grandchildren, Billy Etheredge and his wife, Kristin of Carrolton, GA, Jennifer Montgomery and her husband, Ashley of Lee County, GA, April Etheredge and her husband, Michael of Lee County, GA, Shannon Mock of Newnan, GA, Buddy York and his wife, Robbie of Santa Rosa Beach, FL, Erica Gass and her husband, Randy of Dawsonville, GA, Joe Cannon and his wife, Cheyenne and Brent Cannon and his wife, Leslie all of Lee County, GA and Marlee York of Sneads, FL and seventeen great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Saturday at 10:00 AM before the service at the church.

The family will be at the residence of Bettie and Bill Etheredge, 119 Heathridge Ct., Leesburg, GA, 31763.
