Julia Bishop (Jube) Tucker, 96, died Monday, January 7, 2019 at Eatonton Health and Rehab. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, January 12, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at Byne Memorial Baptist Church. Rev. Charlie Brown will officiate. Interment will follow in Crown Hill Cemetery.
Born in Fitzgerald, GA, Mrs. Tucker had resided in Albany, GA since 1953 moving here from Thomasville, GA. She had resided here all of her life before moving to Eatonton, GA in 2017. She was a graduate of Fitzgerald High School and Georgia Southwestern College and was a fourth grade school teacher and homemaker. She was a member of the Seekers Sunday School Class and Byne Memorial Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Robert (Rob) Tucker who passed away in 1996.
Survivors include a daughter, Denise Tucker Gleiter and her husband John, Cummings, GA, three sons, Randy Tucker and his wife Jane, Albany, GA, Bishop Tucker and his wife Miriam, Wilson, NC and Dr. Keithen Tucker and his wife Sarah, Macon, GA, a brother, Quinton Bishop, Ocilla, GA, ten grandchildren, Chris (Jamie) Gleiter, Augusta, GA, Brittany Gleiter, CA, Carrie Pirtle (Jon), Walaska, GA, Brooke Elder (Tate), Nashville, TN, Meredith Davis (Craig), Fredericksburg, VA, Sara Michael Anderson (Mike), Bluffton, SC, B.J. Tucker (Kim), Greenville, NC, Paul Tucker, Raleigh, NC, David Tucker, Wilson, NC and John Tucker (Crystal), Raleigh, NC, fourteen great-grandchildren and four wonderful and precious sitters, Machelle Brown, Joyce Sartain, Jill Vaugh, and Helen Veatch.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral services at Byne Memorial Baptist Church.
