Joyce Fowler Perry, 92, of Terrell County, GA died peacefully at her home Monday, April 10, 2023 after a long illness. Graveside funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, April 12, 2023 at Crown Hill Cemetery at 3:00 p.m. The Rev. Steve Williams will officiate.
A native of Albany, GA, Mrs. Perry had lived in Terrell County, GA since 1981. She was co-owner and bookkeeper for the family business, Perry Paint and Bodyshop from 1969 until 2018. She graduated from Albany High School in 1948 and then earned her degree from Perry Business School.
She was an active member of Byne Memorial Baptist Church for over seventy years. She was a faithful member of the choir and served as the choir librarian. She was probably best known and most appreciated for her decades of work in the church nursery. She was an extra grandmother to generations of toddlers. She and Papa James were fixtures in the nursery for decades.
Aside from the family business her skills were many. She was an excellent dressmaker as her Mother before her and she was an excellent cook known for her pear cobbler and most any kind of cake.
Mrs. Perry is survived by her two sons, James B. Perry, Jr. and his wife Nancy, Terrell Co., GA, Dr. Ronald M. Perry and his wife Cheryl, TN, daughter, Lisa Perry Edmonds and her husband Stan, Terrell Co., GA, grandchildren, Chad Anguish Perry and his wife Brooke, Macon, GA, Lauren Christine Perry Collins and her husband Jeff, Peachtree City, GA, Luke Alden Perry, Trevor David Perry, Fowler Shae Edmonds Skandamis and her husband Hogan, Albany, GA. Known as Nina to all, she dearly loved all six of her great-grandchildren, Michaela Grace Perry, Noah James Perry, Madison Christine Collins, Mabry Christine Collins, Micah James Skandamis and Miles Andrew Skandamis.
In lieu of flowers those desiring may make memorials in memory of Joyce Fowler Perry to Byne Memorial Baptist Church, 2832 Ledo Road, Albany, GA, 31707.
