Joyce Monfort Hembree

Joyce Monfort Hembree, 86, of Acree, GA passed away Tuesday, April 8, 2025. Memorial services will be conducted Saturday, April 12, 2025 at 3:00 p.m. at Mathews Funeral Home. Rev. Gary Hadden will officiate.

Joyce was born on March 3, 1939 to the late Barney Fenn and Bertha Deakle Fenn in Pelham Georgia where she graduated from Pelham High School.

She worked at various jobs through out her life to include Sunlight Cleaners, Pollock Heating and Cooling and Monfort Auto and Truck Repair. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Acree in Worth County, GA.

Joyce loved the outdoors, she enjoyed fishing, camping and working in her yard. She grew some of the most beautiful flowers that were her pride and joy. She loved to cook and enjoyed entertaining family and friends. She and her sisters created a cookbook of their favorite recipes to give to their families. She enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. She would even ride on the four wheeler or side by side with her grandsons, if she had the right driver, to go ‘bear hunting’.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Jack Monfort, daughter April Armstrong, siblings, B .C. Fenn, Doris Ragan, 

Survivors include her husband, Tommy Q. Hembree, Acree, GA, children, Belinda Jan Norman (Jimmy), Eufaula, AL, Kevin Scott Pollock (Pam), Leesburg, GA, Ricky Hembree (Regina), Ellington, GA, Bill Hembree, Sylvester, GA, Jennifer Robles, Mulberry, GL, sister, Betty Booker, Sylvester, GA, twenty five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Saturday, April 12, 2025 from 2:00 p.m. until the funeral hour at Mathews Funeral Home.
