Joyce Metts Grubbs

Joyce Metts Grubbs, 84, of Dawson, GA, died January 29, 2013 at her residence. A private family service will be held at the Metts Cemetery in Alapaha, GA. The family will receive friends at the residence of Mrs. Grubbs on Friday, February 1, 2013 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM.

A native of Alapaha, GA, Mrs. Grubbs moved to Albany, GA as a young child and graduated from Albany High School in 1945. She moved to Terrell County, GA in 1983, was a former nurse with Dr. Robert Groves, a homemaker and member of the First United Methodist Church of Albany. Mrs. Grubbs was a wonderful cook, mother, grandmother and Mema. She was preceded in death by the father of her children, J.R. Grubbs.

Survivors include her children, James Grubbs and Jeff Grubbs and his wife, Tracy all of Dawson, GA, Judy Drummond and her husband, Robert of Acworth, GA and Joy Register and her husband, Joe of Sylvester, GA, four grandchildren, Michele Register McCook and her husband, Craig of Albany, GA, Ron Register of Sylvester, GA, Jordan Grubbs and Hannah Grubbs of Dawson, GA, a great-grandchild, Cameron McCook and a sister, Mildred Hearn both of Albany, GA.
