Joyce Earline Gonzalez

Joyce Earline Gonzalez, 86, of Albany, GA, died May 27, 2013 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 2:00 PM at the chapel of Sherwood Baptist Church. Rev. Tom Pollock and Ross Powell will officiate. Entombment will follow at Crown Hill Cemetery.

A native of Wrens, GA, born to the late Henry Forest Wren and Lillian Shirley Wren, Mrs. Gonzalez moved to Albany, GA from Orlando, FL where she was employed with the Orlando Police Department as a radio operator.

Mrs. Gonzalez was employed with J. C. Penney for thirty years where she served as the catalog manager and floor supervisor. She was a member of Sherwood Baptist Church, the Vota Vita Sunday School Class and was a former member of the American Legion Post #30 Ladies Auxiliary and the Loyal Order of the Moose #1285 Ladies Auxiliary.

Survivors include her son and his wife, Danny and Pam Gonzalez of Albany, GA and a daughter and her husband, Sheila and Joey Wilbanks of Tallahassee, FL, a sister, Ruby McCoy of Sasser, GA, a brother, Henry Forest Wren of Lake Blackshear, GA, six grandchildren, Shelly Cooper and her husband, Vic and Kimberly Wilbanks all of Tallahassee, FL, Wrenn Wilbanks and his wife, Jennifer of Orlando, FL, Danielle Gonzalez, Brandon Gonzalez and Joshua Gonzalez all of Albany, GA, ten great-grandchildren, Courtney, Wyatt, Saxton, Kody, Taylor, Payton, Rylen, Ethan, Austin and Evan. She was preceded in death by a grandson, Walter Keith Hudgins and her siblings, Paul Wren, James R. Wren, Thomas E. Wren and Alberta Wren Freeman. Mrs. Gonzalez was preceded in death by a brother, Kenneth Wren.

The family will receive friends from one hour prior to the service at the chapel of Sherwood Baptist Church.
