Joy Schwalls Smith, 59, of Albany, GA passed away Monday, February 11, 2013 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital. Memorial services will be held Friday, February 15, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Sherwood Baptist Church. Reverend Tony Haefs will officiate. Interment will follow at Old Cannoochee Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery in Swainsboro, GA at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 16, 2013.

A native of Millen, GA, Mrs. Smith resided in Albany, GA since 1984 after moving from Swainsboro, GA. She was retired from the Department of Family and Children's Services and was of the Christian faith. She was preceded in death by her father, Rountree Schwalls.

Survivors include her husband, Gregory C. Smith, Albany, GA, a son, Ken S. Smith and his wife Jana, Americus, GA, a daughter, Amber Albritton, Valdosta, GA and her mother, Lillian W. Schwalls, Swainsboro, GA.

The family will receive friends following the services at the church.
