Josephine J. NeSmith

Josephine J. NeSmith, 91, of Albany, GA, died March 31, 2015, at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital. Memorial services will be held Saturday at 2:00 PM at Mathews Funeral Home. Rev. Bobby Moye will officiate.

A native of Boston, GA, and born to the late Ira and Ada Martin, Mrs. NeSmith graduated from Boston High School and married her late husband, Willis B. NeSmith in 1945. They moved to Albany, GA, in 1951 where they raised their family.

Mrs. NeSmith was a custom clothier and tailor made women's clothing, including wedding and prom dresses. She was a long time poll worker at West Town Elementary School and was a member of Byne Memorial Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by two children, Alen NeSmith and Susan NeSmith Gray.

Survivors include her two sons, Tommy NeSmith of Albany, GA, and Gary NeSmith of Tybee Island, GA; two grandchildren, Melissa Morrison Winskie and her husband, Alexander, of Savannah, GA, and Carla Pritchett Wale and her husband, Jeff, of Takoma Park, MD; and four great-grandchildren, Lee Wood, Stella Wood, Jett Winskie, and Alistar Winskie.

The family will receive friends one hour before the service at Mathews Funeral Home.
