Joseph Jay Daniels

Joseph Jay (Joe) Daniels, Sr., 54, of Albany, GA, died August 7, 2013 at his residence. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11:00 AM at Mathews Funeral Home. Rev. Bobby Moye will officiate. Interment will follow in Leesburg Cemetery.

A native of Tampa, FL, Joe had lived in Albany, GA since 1976 moving from King George, VA. He was member of the First United Methodist Church of Albany and graduated from Albany High School in 1977. Joe served in the United States Army. He was a contractor and land surveyor and was employed with the City of Albany, S.C. Barker Company and Alcon and Associates.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Lue Daniels, his children, Joseph (Jay) Daniels, Jr.(Melinda) and Jessica Daniels (Chris) all of Albany, GA, a step-son, Casey Etheridge of Leary, GA, his mother, Loretta Maxwell Daniels of Albany, GA, his father, Martin Daniels (Joann) of Mt. Dora, FL, two sisters, Teresa Daniels Garner and Cindy Daniels Watson both of Cumming, GA, four grandchildren, Austin Daniels, Dustin Daniels, Ashton White and Hunter Daniels, all of Albany, GA and one step-grandchild, Jordan Skates of Destin, FL. He was preceded in death by a step-son, Lee (Rooster) Etheridge.

The family will receive friends Friday from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Mathews Funeral Home.
