Joseph Albert (Joe) Chapman

Joseph Albert (Joe) Chapman, 84, of Albany, GA died Wednesday, July 22, 2015 at Willson Hospice House. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, July 25, 2015 at 3:00 p.m. at Mathews Funeral Home. Rev. Charles Jones will officiate. Interment will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery, Dawson, GA.

Born in Bronwood, GA, Mr. Chapman moved to Albany, GA in 1952. He served from 1950 until 1956 in the Army National Guard and served as troop leader of Boy Scout Troop # 13 for many years. He was employed with the Strietman Biscuit Co. later becoming known as the Keebler Corporation for thirty one years. He was a member of the A & P Sunday School Class and a member of Byne Memorial Baptist church for sixty one years.

Survivors include his loving wife of sixty three years, Clusta K. Chapman, Albany, GA, a daughter, Beth Chapman Brinson and her husband Jeff, Leesburg, GA, two sons, Thomas Albert (Al) Chapman and his wife Jane, Murray, KY, Gregory Lynn (Greg) Chapman and his wife Debbie, Conyers, GA, seven grandchildren, Tom Chapman and his wife Ashley, Jason Chapman and his wife Cara, Jonathan Chapman and his wife JoLynnne, Justin Chapman, Blake Chapman, Bryan Brinson, Kara Brinson and a great- grandson Will Chapman, and a nephew, Larry McNamee and his wife Susan, Rockford, TN.

The family will receive friends Saturday at Mathews Funeral Home from 2:00 p.m. until the funeral hour.
