Johnny Lee “John” Cates, 70, of Leesburg, GA died Sunday, September 15, 2019 at his residence after a lengthy illness.
Born in Springfield, MO, Mr. Cates was retired from Sysco Food Service, a member of the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge # 1285, his life was enriched by many friends. He loved his life,His family, and his horses Mr. Cates was a strong believer in God and the values of the Bible. God blessed Mr.Cates with a joyful and playful Spirit Full of fun and laughter. He will truly be missed.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph James Cates, Myrtle Marie Farmer Cates Phillips, grandparents, M.C. and Betsey Cates, Gentry and Cora Farmer, brother, James Milford Cates, sisters, Beverly Sue Stratton, Delsia Marie Smothers, daughter, Crystal Darlene Cates.
Survivors include his wife, Lorna "Denise" Cates, Leesburg, GA, sons, Shawn Donald Cates (Amy Jo Cates), Leesburg, GA, Ralph Cates, Portageville, MO, Adam Lee Cates, Leesburg, GA, daughters, Angelisa Dawn Morales (Steve), Rockford, IL, Jamie Lee Stinson, Leesburg, GA, brothers, Norman Phillips and Eric Phillips both of Bolivar, MO, sisters, Teresa Phillips Lentz, Clinton, MO, Debbie Hadley, MO, mother-in-law, Mary Richardson, Leesburg, GA, Evelyn Faye Meade, Clarksville, TN, ten grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
