John A. Weathersby, Jr

John A. Weathersby, Jr., 71, of Lee Co., GA died Monday, April 17, 2017 at Willson Hospice House. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, April 20, 2017 at 3:00 p.m. at Mathews Funeral Home. Rev. Billy D. Hanna will officiate. Interment will follow in Leesburg Cemetery, Leesburg, GA.

Born in Camilla, GA, Mr. Weathersby had resided in Lee Co., GA since 1988 having lived in Albany, GA before. Mr. Weathersby retired from Georgia Electric and Tommy Johnson Paint Contractors as project manager, contracted to M & M Mars after twenty-seven years due to health reasons. He was of the Baptist faith and was preceded in death by his parents, John A. Weathersby and Anne Mayo Weathersby and a daughter, Tracy Tumlin.

Survivors include his wife, Jan Weathersby, Lee Co., GA, a son, Matt Weathersby, Lee Co., GA, a daughter, Angel Hendricks (Johnny), Newton, GA, two brothers, Jack Weathersby (Brenda), Dickey, GA, Jeff Weathersby (Kathy), Camilla, GA, four sisters, Beth Harper, Albany, GA, Sara Nolf (Allen), Newton,GA, Nan Goodwin (Bruce), Yulee, FL, Sally Weathersby, Leesburg, GA, three grandchildren, John Mark Hendricks, Jr., Breanna Weathersby, Leyna Hendricks. Other survivors include sisters-in-law, Billie Hall (Randy), Lee County, GA, Gail Wislon (Billy), Albany, GA and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends Thursday from 2:00 p.m.until the funeral hour at Mathews Funeral Home.
