John Marcus Sheffield

He was born on January 14, 1938, in Ellenton, Georgia, to the late Monroe and Pauline Beverly Sheffield. Mark attended and graduated from Norman Park High School and Norman College, Mark and Gay owned and operated Sheffield’s IGA grocery store at the corner of Adel Hwy and Rowland Drive in Moultrie , Ga.for twelve years.The family then moved to Dawson Ga. where he cultivated his passion for farming and agriculture, and cherished the land he tended.

Mark was preceded in death by his Parents, Monroe and Pauline Sheffield and his brothers Dr. Charles Sheffield and Leo Sheffield.

He is survived by his loving wife, Gay Lane Sheffield of Albany GA, his sons, Steve Sheffield (Kathy) of St. Simons Island,Ga. and Mike Sheffield (Janet) of Albany, GA. Mark also leaves behind a beloved grandchild, Rebecca Turner (Andrew) of St. Simons Island, Ga. as well as three great-grandchildren, Mary West Turner, Millie Jane Turner and Margaret Drew Turner.
