John F. Sedberry

John F. Sedberry, 71 of Lee County, GA, died January 31, 2016 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital. Memorial services will be held Saturday, February 6, 2016 at 5:30 PM at The Albany Shrine Club, 135 Shrine Club Rd., Leesburg, GA. Rev. Bobby Moye will officiate. Food and fellowship will immediately follow the service.

A native of Montgomery, AL, born to the late John and Dorothy Sedberry, John's family moved from Mobile, AL to Albany, GA, in 1953 and he graduated from Albany High School in 1963. John served in The United Sates Army Reserves for six years and was employed with Georgia Power Company for twenty six years.

As a young man, John loved to race and dragged his car named "Humping Henry" and continued to be a lifelong fan of NASCAR. John was a member of The First Methodist Church of Albany. He was a member of Chehaw Lodge # 701 F&AM of Leesburg, GA and was currently serving as the Treasurer of Daylight Lodge # 741 of Albany, GA.

John was a member of Hasan Shrine Center where he served on the Transportation Committee and drove patients over forty thousand miles to Shriners Hospitals and he was a member of the Directors Staff where he served as Secretary for fifteen years. John was also a member of Albany Shrine Club where he served as the Secretary for ten years and he was a member of the Royal Order of Jesters Albany Court # 159 of Albany.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Pamela (Pam) Myers Sedberry. Survivors include a brother and his wife, Mark and Sonja Sedberry of Ft. Gaines, GA, a sister and her husband, Dianne and Jud Savelle of Panama City, FL, a step-daughter, Laura Peterson of Leesburg, GA and two step-sons, Brett Peterson of Bishop, GA and John Peterson of Albany, GA.
