John Robert (Bob) Harvey

John Robert (Bob) Harvey, 82, of Albany, GA, passed into glory Saturday, April 30, 2016 after battling cancer. Funeral services will be conducted Friday, May 6, 2016 at 10:00 AM at Mathews Funeral Home. Dr. Gary Hadden, Rev. Eric. Eidenire, and Dr. Ryan West will officiate. A private interment will follow at Andersonville National Cemetery with military honors.

A Native of Pineview, GA, Mr. Harvey proudly served twenty one years in the United States Air Force followed by twenty years of employment with the United States Post Office.

Mr. Harvey gladly served and loved the Lord, his wife, family, and friends. His hobbies were gardening, reading, wood working, and helping others. Bob was an active member of First Baptist Church Acree; serving many years in the Sunday school program and on the deacon board.

Survivors include his wife of sixty three years Mary M. Harvey of Albany, GA, two daughters, Joy (James) West of Lake Blackshear, GA, Karen (Rich) Johnson of Idyllwild, CA, grandchildren Ryan (Danielle) West, Joe McClellan, Chris McClellan, and Shannon (Adam) Wiener, great grandchildren David, Sally, and John West, Riley McClellan, Ravyn, Slade, Adelaide, and Bennett Wiener.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service Friday at Mathews Funeral Home.
