John L. Bowman

MSGT. John L. Bowman, USMC, (ret.), 80, of Albany died Thursday at the Willson Hospice House.  Services will be held at a later date.

A native of South Bend, IN Mr. Bowman had lived in Albany since 1974 when he retired from the Marine Corps after 21 years.  After his retirement he acquired A-1 Janitorial Service.

He was member of Radium Country Club shooting a hole in one in 1999, lifetime member of VFW Post 2785 a former member of the Moose Lodge.  He was preceded in death by his first wife Sally Garrage Bowman.

Survivors include his wife Sherry Bowman, Albany, his children, Julie Powell, Leesburg, Mike Bowman (Deba), Leeland, NC, Lisa Bashline (Donald), Cobb, 8 grandchildren 9 great grandchildren, sister, Maria Bowman Nawrocki, Osceola, IN and his faithful companion “Tar”
