Joe W. Taylor

Joe W. Taylor, 80 of Albany, GA, died Monday November 12, 2012 at Willson Hospice House. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 10:00 a.m. at Mathews Funeral Home. Rev. Stacy West will officiate. Interment will follow in Meigs Sunset Cemetery, Meigs, GA.

A native of Meigs, GA, Mr. Taylor had resided in Albany, GA since 1957 moving here from Thomasville, GA. He was a veteran of the Korean War serving in the Army and was a member of the VFW # 2785 and the American Legion Post # 30. He was a retired supervisor with the MCLB and was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include two sons, Michael L. Taylor (Carol), Leesburg, GA, Ray Allen Taylor (Sybrena), Gordon, GA, a brother, Herman C. Taylor (Betty), Albany, GA, three sisters, Miriam Humphries, Albany, GA, Vivian Thomas, Pelham, GA, Sara West (Earl), Meigs, GA, four grandchildren, Wesley Allen Taylor, Dwayne T. Taylor, Kristopher Michael Taylor, Michelle Lynn Taylor, two great-grandchildren, Lainey Anne Taylor and Addison Reid Taylor and a special friend, Geneva Nixon.

The family is at the residence of George and Frances Fassler, 1910 Robinhood Rd., Albany, GA.

The family will receive friends Wednesday from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at Mathews Funeral Home
