Joaneva “Joany” Coleman Burns, 64, of Lee County died Friday, November 17, 2017 at her residence.

Her funeral service will be Tuesday 10 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church with interment in Floral Memory Gardens.  Rev. Doug Hudson will officiate.

A native of Augusta, Mrs. Burns had lived in Albany and Lee County for last 60 years.  She was retired from Palmyra Nursing Home and was a faithful member of Trinity Lutheran Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents Jack D. and Mary Thompson Coleman.

Survivors include her husband Marvin Burns, Lee County, daughter, Marleen Cortez (Jesus), Lee County, sisters, Rhonda  Coleman Way, Albany, Tina Coleman McClure, Lee County, brother Barry D. Coleman (Violet), Vidalia, grandchildren, Maria J. Cortez, Sofia R. Cortez, Selena J. Cortez, Carlos S. Cortez, nieces, Jessica Catherine Way, Jenny Coleman, nephews, Sercey McClure, Stone McClure and Barry D. Coleman, II.

The family will receive friends Monday 6 to 8 PM at Mathews Funeral Home.

Joany was a lover of life, who loved all of her family and friends.  She had a smile that would light up any room, who always thought positive even when times were tough she pulled through and kept her faith in God.
