Joan Hayes Marsh

Joan Hayes Marsh, 82, of Leesburg, GA died Thursday, May 30, 2013 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital. Graveside funeral services will be conducted Sunday, June 2, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. (CST) at Union Springs Baptist Church Cemetery, Brundidge, AL. Rev. Steve Allen will officiate.

Born in Abington, VA, Mrs. Marsh had resided in Mobile, AL since 1964 and served as city clerk with the City of Mobile, AL and was a member of Hollingers Island Baptist Church and was very active in the church choir. She moved to Leesburg, GA in 1998. She was preceded in death by a grandson, Michael Scott Allen.

Survivors include a daughter, Julie Marsh Allen and her husband Sam, Lee Co., GA, two sons, James Newton Marsh, Athens, GA and Randy Marsh and his wife Cyndee, Albany, GA, five grandchildren, Heather Marsh Pouliot, Keith Hayes Allen, Christopher Todd Allen, Jamie-Lynn Rodgers, Morgan Elizabeth Marsh and five great-grandchildren.

The family is at the residence of Sam and Julie Allen at 164 Canuga Dr., Albany, GA. and will receive friends Saturday June 1, 2013 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the residence.
