Joan Carroll

Joan Carroll, 71, died Friday, October 12, 2012 at Douglasville Nursing and Rehab. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, October 16, 2012, at 10:00 AM at Mathews Funeral Home with Rev. Dennis Lanning officiating. Interment will be at 3:00 PM at Hazlehurst City Cemetery in Hazlehurst, GA.

Mrs. Carroll was a native of Hazlehurst, GA and a resident of Leesburg. She was retired from Carquest as an administrative assistant, Past President of VFW Post #2785 Women's Auxiliary and a member of Avalon United Methodist Church. Mrs. Carroll was preceded in death by her husband Herman Phoenix Carroll.

Survivors include a daughter, Rhonda Carroll Shemery, Worth Co., GA, a son, Craig Carroll, Harris Co., GA, a brother, Kelly Grace, Hazlehurst, GA, two sisters, Marilyn Gribble, Baxley, GA, Saralyn Stapleton (David), Hazlehurst, GA, and two grandchildren, Heather Shemery and Haley Shemery.

The family will receive friends Monday from 6:00 P.M. until 8 P.M. at Mathews Funeral Home.

The family is at the residence of Rhonda Carroll Shemery, 1806 Porter's Corner Rd., Sylvester, GA.
