Jimmy Wyatt Tipper

Jimmy Wyatt Tipper, 67, of Leary, GA, died Saturday, July 4, 2015 at Southeast Alabama Medical Center in Dothan, AL. Memorial services will be conducted Saturday, July 11, 2015 at 3:00 p.m. at Mathews Funeral Home with military honors. Rev. Jonathan Tipper will officiate. Interment will follow at Andersonville National Cemetery at a scheduled date.

Born in Moultrie, GA, Mr. Tipper was a veteran of the Vietnam War and had served in the Marine Corps for eight years. He was a graduate of Armstrong State with a degree in criminal justice and had served several years in law enforcement with several cities and counties and retiring with the Clay County Sheriff's Department. He was preceded in death by his parents, Wyatt Tipper and Mary Blanche Walker Tipper and a brother, Randy Tipper.

Survivors include his children, Chris Tipper (Jackie), Sylvester, GA, Carey Tipper (Sharon), Brandon, MS, Sarah Clark, Elizabethtown, KY and Kelli Morgan, Leary, GA, sisters, Mary Jane Tipper, Ty Ty, GA, Betty Markham, Marion, NC, Lisa Tipper, Tifton, GA, brother Scotty Tipper (Janice), Leary, GA, close friends, Donna Marlow, Tifton, GA and Edward and Carolyn Wilkins, Edison, GA, grandchildren, Christopher Tipper, Anna Claire Tipper, Ansley Burford, Charlie Tipper, Allie Clark, Ty Morgan and Kaitlyn Wells.

The family will receive friends following the services at Mathews Funeral Home.
