Jimmy E. (Jim) Adam, (MSgt, USMC, Ret), 77, of Leesburg, GA, died March 4, 2016 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 1:00 PM at the Hasan Shrine Center in Albany, GA. Rev. Stan Glass will officiate. Tri- County Memorial Club will provide Masonic Rites and the United States Marine Corps will provide Military Honors. A private interment will follow in Leesburg Cemetery.
A native of New Salisbury, IN, Jim graduated from High School and joined The United States Marine Corps. He served twenty years, was a Vietnam Veteran, retired in 1981 and was a member of The Veterans of Foreign Wars Post # 2785.
Jim moved to Albany, GA from Philadelphia, PA in 1976 and was a member of Dougherty Lodge # 591 F&AM and he was a 32nd Degree KCCH Scottish Rite Mason-Valley Of Albany. He was also a member of Hasan Shriners where he served as Transportation Chairman and made over 200 trips taking children to Shriners Hospitals for Children. He was preceded in death by a son, Kent Griffin Adam.
Survivors include his wife, Judy B. Adam of Leesburg, GA, a daughter, Jeyme Adam of Eufaula, AL, four grandchildren, James Calvin (J.C.) Adam of Leesburg, GA, Timothy Collier of Albany, GA, Brandon Barfield of Ellaville, GA and Jessica Collier of Leesburg, GA, four great-grandchildren, Cianna, Timothy, Nicholas and Chloe, two brothers, Bruce Adam of Fairburn, OH and Steve Adam of Troy, OH, five sisters, Shirley Norris of Troy, OH, Joanne Adam and Janet Adam both of Cleveland, OH and Brenda Kranbrink of Tustin, CA and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM Monday at Mathews Funeral Home.
