Jimmie O. “Jim” Bellamy, 89, of Lee County, GA, died July 30, 2018 at the Willson Hospice House. Graveside funeral services will be held Monday August 6, 2018 at 11:00 AM at Floral Memory Gardens Cemetery with military honors by the United States Navy and the American Legion Honor Guard. Rev. Bruce Pittman will officiate.
A native of Neelyville, MO, joined the US Navy during the Korean Conflict and served twenty years in the military, twelve of those years under the command of The United States Marine Corps. He moved from Willamsburg, VA to Albany, GA in 1968. He owned and operated the Pearle Vision Eye Care Center in Albany, GA and was a Baptist by faith.
Survivors include his wife, Jackie Bellamy of Leesburg, GA, two sons, Richard Bellamy of Sarasota, FL and Bryan Bellamy and his wife, Angela of Richmond, VA, three daughters, Debra Lynn Bailey and Diane Davis both of Charleston, SC and Rhonda Lynn Simpson of Albany, GA, a step-son, Jason Griffin and his wife, Melissa of Lee County, GA, his sisters, Nannette Palmer and Virginia Young both of Bridgeton, MO, eight grandchildren, Holly Trizzino of Roswell, GA, Jacob Bellamy of Chesterfield, VA, Cody Bellamy of Havelock, NC, Gage Griffin, Banks Griffin, Everly Griffin and Olivia Brown all of Lee County, GA and Devan Simpson of Albany, GA and five great-grandchildren, Oli Trizzino, Charlotte Bellamy, Bryce Bellamy, Willow Trizzino and Silas Bellamy.
