Jewell Evelyn Carr

Jewel Evelyn Carr, 74, of Albany, GA, died January 13, 2015 at the Baptist Medical South Hospital in Montgomery, AL. Graveside funeral services will be held Friday at 11:00 AM at Leesburg Cemetery. Rev. Bobby Moye will officiate.

Mrs. Carr was born in Milledgeville, GA on November 21, 1940, moved to Albany, GA as a child and graduated from Albany High School. She had lived in Albany and Lee County most of her life and was employed with Quality Vending Company and Bi County Gas Company.

Mrs. Carr loved traveling with her friends and her and her late husband, James R. Carr liked to fish and garden. Her hobby was crocheting and crafts and she was blest to have her very best friend, Earnestine Hurley.

Survivors include two daughters, Sherrie Lynn Thompson and her husband, Bubba of Lee County, GA and Belinda Daugherty and her husband, Tony of Albany, GA, two grandchildren, Robert Thompson of Atlanta, GA and Haley Daugherty of Albany, GA and a nephew, Dale Carr and his wife, Joann of Lee County, GA. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jim and Marie Pittman.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM Thursday, January 15, 2015 at Mrs. Carr’s residence, 2503 Brookhaven Ct., Albany, GA, 31721.
