Jessica H. & Julianna D. Thompson

Jessica Lynn Thompson, 41, and Julianna “JuJu” Denise Thompson, 17, mother and daughter, died March 7, 2024 at their residence in Smithville, GA. Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 15, 2024 at 2:00 pm at Mathews Funeral Home, visitation will begin at 1:00pm.  Interment will follow in Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery in Mitchell County.

Jessica was born in Thomasville, GA on August 8, 1982 and moved with her family to Lee County, GA in 1986 where she lived her entire life.  She graduated from Lee County High School in 2000 and attended Georgia Southwestern University and Valdosta St. University.   Jessica loved fishing with her Dad and lived for her children.  She worked at the Lee County YMCA with the Summer Camp and After School Programs and was employed as a Nanny.

Jessica’s survivors include her children, Jocelyn Thompson and William Thompson both of Lee County, GA, her boyfriend, Vance Turner of Albany, GA, a step-daughter, Alexandra Thompson of Macon, GA, her parents, Tammylin and Harold Hatcher of Lee County, GA, a brother, Ryan (Jackie) Hatcher of Braselton, GA, a sister, Sarah (Michael) Hardy, Jr. and her nieces and nephews, Brayden Thompson, Sullivan Hatcher, Ramsey Hatcher, Lachlan Hatcher and Clifford Hardy.

JuJu was born in Atlanta, GA on July 25, 2006 and grew up in Lee County, GA. She attended Lee County High School where she played on the softball team. She enjoyed being silly and being with her friends. She was a good friend with an incredibly contagious laugh. Julianna loved her family and was full of life and potential.

JuJu’s survivors include her siblings, Jocelyn Thompson and Willam Thompson both of Fitzgerald, GA and a step-sister, Alexandra Thompson of Macon, GA, her grandparents, Tammylin and Harold Hatcher of Lee County, GA, and nephew, Brayden Thompson of Fitzgerald, GA.
