Jerry Eugene Peterman

Jerry E. Peterman, (MSgt, US Army, Ret.), 84, of Albany, GA, died April 22, 2024 at his residence.  Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 25, 2024 at 11:00 am at Lakeside Baptist Church.  Rev. Ken Chancellor and Rev. Andrew Kornegay will officiate.  Interment will follow in The Leesburg Cemetery with Military Honors. 

Jerry was born on March 23, 1940 in Thomas County, GA to Shelby and Gertrude Peterman.  He grew up in Coolidge, GA and graduated from Meigs High School.  After high school, he joined the United States Army and served for eight years before joining the Georgia National Guard and finally retiring from Georgia National Guard Civil Service Technician, with a total of 38 years of service. Jerry was a member of Lakeside Baptist Church and The Heaven Bound Sunday School Class. 

Survivors include his wife, Margaret Peterman, son and wife, Eddie and Gwen Peterman, and son, Scott Peterman, all of Lee County, GA, a sister, Ann Brown of Thomasville, GA, his grandchildren, Chris (Kayla) Peterman of Brunswick, GA, Matt (Jennifer) Peterman of Savannah, GA, Justin (Kim) Peterman of Lee County, GA, Taylor and Chase Peterman of Worth County, GA and Kayla Peterman of Yokosuka, Japan and fourteen great-grandchildren. 

The family will receive friends Wednesday, April 24, 2024 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Mathews Funeral Home.
